Welcome back Class 2! I hope you have all had a wonderful break filled with rest, family time and too many mince pies!

We have a fantastic term planned for you and I cannot wait to get stuck in! Our new topic is Crime and Punishment and a curriculum map wil be going home next week with this terms coverage.

In Literacy we will be focusing on narrative and entering the 500 words competition, if ou want to learn more about it look here:

In order to complete these stories to the best of your ability you have got your very own 'Magpie Book'. Your homework this week is to cover it in your own way (be creative!) and to start collecting your ideas and 'magpieing' your favourite words and phrases from whatever you are reading, this could be at home or during school; You may even magpie from the TV or your friends-remember true authors find their inspiration EVERYWHERE, so keep your eyes peeled!

I cannot wait to see what you come up with!

In Maths this week we will be looking at conversions and measurements. This will be applied to shape and, as always, we will be doing lots of application and reasoning activities to deepen and further our understanding.

Happy new year to you all,

Lots of Love,

Mrs Soulsby
