Safeguarding and Child Protection at JG
As a school we take the safety and child protection of our pupils very seriously.
We work within Nottinghamshire County Council safeguarding processes, and the Nottinghamshire Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub [ Notts MASH] . We have a Whole School Child Protection Policy which is updated and reflects DfE "Keeping Children Safe in Education" [KCSiE] guidance.
KCSIE emphasises that everyone who comes into contact with children and their families has a role to play in safeguarding children. School and college staff are particularly important, as they are in a position to identify concerns early and provide help for children, to prevent concerns from escalating.
The KCSiE guidance is updated at least annually by government, and so our JG CP policy may see regular updates to reflect this.
The copy below will be the most current one.
We have three lead practitioners on staff who have specialist training in Safeguarding and Child Protection.
These Designated Safeguarding Leads [DSLs] are:
Chris Belton - Headteacher [Senior DSL]
Lucy Viggars - Deputy Headteacher [Deputy DSL]
Hardip Thompson - Assistant Headteacher/SENco [Deputy DSL]
All staff receive regular training and updates on Child Protection.
If you ever have any concerns about any child , or indeed adult; just ask a member of school or play services staff for help, and they will ensure you get advice/support.
