KS1 Phonics / Reading Schemes

In KS1 we  use the  government recommended framework 'Letters and  Sounds'.

In FS2 and KS1 we use a range of reading schemes organised in a banded system. 

We believe  that every child's journey  to learn to read is  unique and  their different  tastes/book choices reflect  this. It is not a case of  "one  size fits all"; so by using a  banded system we can provide a wide range of types of  reading materials - be it books  from a scheme, picture, story or non fiction books.   From this range of  reading book stock, we can encourage and develop children's skills to make reading choices and  develop a wide love of reading from the  earliest stage.
