What’s happening in March?

SCHOOL DISCO - plans following cancellation of Friday 2nd March

Following last week’s snow and the consequent cancellation of the school disco, the plan is to ask all ticket holders to hang onto their tickets until our next disco on 8th June. If you are unable to make that date, or would prefer to have your ticket reimbursed, please email the school office at

We will be back in touch with all Friday’s kind volunteers to ask if you can help again, but this will be much nearer the time. 


We are delighted to report that the £100 that was given to each class in September has now been spent, which is great news!  We are delighted to see our teachers and children enjoying the money that our incredible families have raised. 

Following on from last month’s update, the final few additions have been:

  • Yrs 5 & 6:                The year group pooled their money and treated their children to lots of new books to enjoy – many of which may have influenced this year’s World Book Day!
  • Class 4K:                 Miss Kirk has invested in a little comfort for her classroom with new bean bags – as well as some new books too
  • Class 2L:                  Mrs Lloyd has purchased a subscription to The Week Junior for her children to enjoy, keeping them abreast of all that’s going on around them


We are hugely grateful to the parents and families who have helped - and continue to help – with our JGA fundraising activities.  We have welcomed a few new parents this school year but we would love to meet more.  Your help is invaluable and can be anything from arranging a bouncy castle for an event, to writing thank you letters to kind donators and counting up money after a fundraiser.  If you can offer just 30 minutes of your time across the school year, please email your contact details to jga@ga.jessegray.notts.sch.ukFeel free to let us know what you would and wouldn’t like to get involved with!


This year’s AGM is fast approaching and we are looking forward to presenting the year’s achievements to everyone who joins us.  The AGM is a great opportunity to have an introduction to the JGA.  More details about positions available this year and how to vote have been emailed to all parents via parent mail - but are also attached at the bottom of this page for reference.


Back by popular demand, we are hosting a curry and quiz night at the school on Friday 27th April.  We will distribute details on how and when to buy tickets, as there will be limited availability.  This event is going to be our first dedicated fundraiser which we will tell you more about over the coming weeks.  We are looking for help to bring this event together so if you’d like to put yourself forward, and confirm your place ahead of the rush, please email us at  We need help with everything from preparing the quiz to sourcing food and managing registration on the night.
