What’s happening in May?
COFFEE AFTERNOON & TUCK SHOP – FRIDAY 18THMAY
The next coffee afternoon is planned for 2pm on Friday 18thMay. As a trial, we will be extending the afternoon into the Junior playground until 3.30pm, where the children can buy a Friday afternoon treat from the JGA tuck shop – so please don’t forget to send your child in with a little pocket money!
SCHOOL DISCO – FRIDAY 8THJUNE
Just a reminder that the postponed school disco is fast approaching! A letter detailing times and tickets is attached with this newsletter (whether you are using your postponed ticket or purchasing for the first time). Thank you to the parents who have kindly agreed to help at the discos – if you were due to help at the March disco and have not been in touch to say you can/cannot help at the June disco, please do let us know at your earliest convenience. Understandably, we’ve had some people now unable to support us so if you can help out, we have a few spaces left at all discos.
MIDSUMMER MADNESS – FRIDAY 22NDJUNE
This year’s Midsummer Madness is already being planned! Keep your eyes peeled for details on donation requests – and other ways in which you can help. The evening promises to be as fun-filled as ever with family favourites – the cake stall, bouncy castle and crafts… as well as some new additions - face painting and a mystery bottle tombola!
OUR NEXT BIG ADVENTURE
The time has come to announce the shortlisted ideas for ‘Our Next Big Adventure’! The children have given their ideas and Mrs Moore’s School Council have shortlisted…
- A reading den in KS1 & KS2 playgrounds
- Monkey bars in KS2 playground
We’ve had advice from experts in regards to health & safety and we have consulted with the teachers to ensure the activities can be well-used. It is now down to our children to make the final decision! Over the next few weeks the children will cast their votes in class and the one with the most votes will be brought to life over the summer holidays, ready to enjoy in September.
JGA CUPBOARD SORT OUT!
The JGA cupboard, at school, is need of a good sort out – from donations of books to uniform, we have lots of stock! If you’re free one Monday or Friday and can help to go through the contents, please email Rebecca Muldoon at email@example.com
YEAR GROUP REPS
If you would like to support the JGA in a role that has great flexibility to suit you, then nominating yourself as a Year Group rep maybe the answer! We’re looking for new people to volunteer as Year Group reps (X1 per year) to communicate information about the JGA as and when applicable. It could be anything from posting requests for help at events on your Year’s Whatsapp group, to feeding back fundraising ideas that a parent in your year may have had. You do not have to attend monthly meetings, unless you’d like to do so, but simply be a part of a group email with the JGA. Please email your details to firstname.lastname@example.org
