JGA Football Tournament

JGA Football Tournament

A huge thank-you to everyone that attended the football on Sat 8th October.  it was a lot of fun and the teams really entered into the spirit and played enormously well. This year for the first time, we had two designated referees, Ed Prichard and Karl Chessel. This worked incredibly well, providing continuity of rules and play.

After a very close fought match, resulting in sudden death penalties, the winning team (for the third year in a row!) was year 2, who all received a medal, t-shirt and a bottle of beer, courtesy of Thomas Yates and Belvoir Brewery. They also took charge of the winning trophy! Coming gallant runners up was the staff team who also received medals and t-shirts.

The total raised at the event, including a very generous sponsorship payment from local business, Air I.T, came to just under £500.

Jesse Gray School has also received a very kind donation of sponge playground footballs. Sophie Booth, on behalf of the local Westbridgford sports business, MAD DOG, presented these during the football tournament.

Thanks must also go to the JGA football sub committee, lead by Alice Morten, the caretaker and other JG staff that helped to make this event run smoothly.
